Interested in affordable housing in Portland?

What about access to behavioral and mental health services for low income individuals? Want to learn about the process of urban non-profit property development? 

Our treasurer, Hasan, has arranged for a private tour of the new Garlington Health Center and Garlington House apartments. As project manager for Housing Development Center, Hasan worked with owner and sponsor Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare to develop both buildings over the last two years.

The tour will take place at 9am will include a description of both projects, an overview of the development process, and the financing of both buildings. Group size will be limited to 8-10 people, so RSVP early! All are welcome, but preference will be given to dues-paying members.

Ben’s Birthday Happy Hour

was held at the Breakside Brewery 

on Wednesday, January 17.

(Ben’s actual birthday - Happy 312th!)

It was not as sunny as this picture, but the Penn friends

and welcoming venue were great fun!

Every guest brought one new toy or book ($10 or less) to go to the Toy & Joy Makers, who were overwhelmed and overjoyed with the toys we donated.


At our 11/15 Fall Luncheon

talked about the future of print and digital news and led a vigorous discussion afterward



The Penn Club was joined by the local Cornell Club for the 

2nd Annual Football Watching Party, 

on Saturday morning, 11/17 at the Kingston Sports Bar and Grill.

The event was a huge success with Penn triumphing 29-22


2017 Lawn Party and Send-off

Thanks to everyone who was able to join us on Tuesday, July 25.  It was a great Oregon summer evening and fun meeting and talking with everyone. To everyone who was not able to attend, we are sorry you had to miss this special evening.

Club members receive discounts on most club events, but, most importantly, your membership dues help us to plan a sendoff event each summer for new students, to give book awards to several current high students and to provide financial assistance in bringing programs from the University to our area.
